What this site is, and is not

Dog Insurance Cost publishes a premium calculator and a set of guides that estimate what a dog insurance policy might cost, built from our own pricing model plus published industry figures. We are not an insurance agency, broker, or carrier, and using the calculator does not create any insurance relationship between you and us or any provider we mention.

Estimates, not bindable quotes

Every number the calculator produces is a planning estimate. The premium an insurer actually offers you depends on their own underwriting rules, your dog's health history, your exact address, and the specific plan you select, none of which the calculator sees. Use the output here to compare options before you shop, not as a price you can hold an insurer to.

Not veterinary, legal, or financial advice

Nothing published on this site is veterinary, insurance, legal, or financial advice, regardless of how confidently it reads. Decisions about your dog's care belong to a licensed veterinarian who has actually examined your dog, and decisions about which policy to buy belong to you, after reading that insurer's actual plan documents.

Quote referrals and paid links

Some links on this site lead to insurance marketplaces or providers. If you request a quote or buy a policy after clicking one of those links, we may be paid a referral fee. That fee never changes the price quoted to you, and it never determines which providers appear on this site or how favorably we describe them.

Acceptable use

You are welcome to use this site to research dog insurance costs for yourself or a pet you care for. Pulling the calculator's pricing tables or underlying logic for resale, or republishing our figures as your own original research, is not something we permit without asking us first.
